At Tender Funerals, we believe funerals and funeral care should be meaningful, authentic, and affordable.
Who Are We?
Tender Funerals Canberra Region is a not-for-profit funeral service and a member of the Tender Funerals network. We help families create meaningful, affordable funerals by:
- Providing our funerals at cost
- Ensuring every family is aware of all their choices
- Empowering families to participate and feel in control of the process
- Providing community education on dying, death care and funerals
- Encouraging community involvement through volunteering and events
Tender Funerals are for everyone, and we use our benevolent fund to ensure even those experiencing financial hardship can hold a meaningful funeral.
Thanks to enormous support from The Snow Foundation and Canberra Airport Group, Tender Funerals Canberra Region opened its doors at 11 Glenbrook Lane, Fairbairn, in August 2024.

Tender Funerals, established in 2016, is Australia’s first franchised non-profit funeral service, providing services on an at-cost pricing model, enabling families to have an authentic and affordable funeral service without going into large amounts of debt.
In 2020, Tender Funerals Australia was established, with the sole purpose to support communities to establish a Tender Funerals service in their own areas.
