Celebrating the Life of

David Charles Russell

26/01/1951 – 05/03/2026
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of David Charles Russell.
David was a man of quiet strength, curiosity, and wit. He approached life with determination, steadfast in his convictions, and true to himself. While private by nature, those close to him knew his sharp mind and subtle sense of humour. He was someone who always tried to think of others first, often showing his care in quiet, understated ways. True to himself, he did things his way right to the very end.
A lover of quizzes and a good game of Trivial Pursuit, David delighted in knowledge and the occasional friendly challenge. In his youth, he loved to surf, embracing adventure and the thrill of the waves. His favourite song, “We’re All Gonna Die Some Day” by Kasey Chambers, reflected his wry, philosophical outlook on life, able to face its truths with a hint of humour.
David is survived by his beloved children Ian, Matthew, Julia, Logan, Jordan, and Tia, and his cherished grandchildren Brooklynn, Xavier, Charles, Megan, and Alexis.
He will be fondly remembered for his intelligence, steadfastness, strong-willed spirit, and the quiet joy he brought to those around him.
A private farewell has been held with close family and loved ones.
