Celebrating the Life of
Scott James Oakley
6 January 1986 – 22 February 2026
With deep love and sadness, we announce the passing of Scott James Oakley, aged 40 years.
Family and friends are welcome to join us for a Celebration of Scottie’s Life on Wednesday 4 March at 11:30am at The Chapel at Gold Creek, 17 O’Hanlan Place, Nicholls ACT 2913, followed by a burial service at Gungahlin Cemetery (Portion 07).
All are warmly invited to join us afterwards at the Margaret Whitlam Pavilion, National Arboretum Canberra, Forest Drive (off Tuggeranong Parkway) for refreshments and to share memories of Scottie.
Beloved son of Ann Marie and Julian Oakley (both deceased), dearly loved brother of Lauren and twin brother of Sarah-Jane, uncle to Evelyn and Lillian, and brother-in-law to Matt and Jork.
Scott was known for his cheeky sense of humour, his infectious smile, and his lifelong love of Lego.
Scott was deeply loved, and over his lifetime he was fortunate to have many people in his life who cared for him. He, in turn, touched more lives than he will ever know.
Scott’s resilience, warmth and cheeky charm will remain in our hearts forever.
In honour of Scott and his love of Lego, guests are encouraged to wear bright Lego colours.
Forever in our hearts and home, now reunited in heaven with Mum and Dad.
The service will be live streamed, accessible here: Scott James Oakley
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation.
