Tender Funerals Mid North Coast is looking for a skilled, confident and values-driven (20-34 hrs negotiable) Operations Manager to join the team.

The Operations Manager is responsible for the management of day-to-day operations and the implementation and continuous development of processes and practices across the organisation.

You will lead a team of passionate paid staff and volunteers who are committed to delivering community-led death care in a collaborative environment. Ultimately, we’ll trust you to help us remain compliant, efficient and financially sustainable.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure service delivery is aligned with the Tender mission and values
  • Ensure compliance with WHS and health regulations
  • Refine operational systems and processes
  • Perform HR duties such as recruiting, scheduling, and debriefing with the team
  • Be involved in all aspects of service delivery as required
  • Manage budgets and contribute to the development of a financially sustainable social enterprise
  • Build relationships with diverse communities
  • Oversee and further develop community engagement and education activities
  • Reporting

Desirable skills/experience

  • Have experience in managing teams and ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, organisations and community members
  • Be passionate about ethical person and family-centred funeral care, preferably with some funeral industry experience
  • Be committed to value, respect and work with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Be an innovative and pro-active problem-solver
  • Have administrative and financial management skills
  • Have previous work experience in the community sector
