Elizabeth Packett

Elizabeth is a screenwriter for television and registered secondary school teacher. More recently, she has trained as a Death Doula with Denise Love’s Life Options, completed Death Walker training with Zenith Virago of  The Natural Death Care Centre and is a volunteer with Barwon Health Palliative Care in “Dignity Therapy”.  Elizabeth sees a strong need for meaningful, not-for-profit funerals in Geelong and the surrounding areas and is honoured to help establish Tender Funerals for her community.

Frances D’Arcy-Tehan PhD

Board Co-Chair  |  Director 

Dr Fran is the Board Co-chair of Tender Funerals Geelong. She has extensive experience working as a psychologist spanning over 25 years and this equips her with the multifaceted nature of grief, loss and bereavement. Dr Fran is committed to the Tender Funerals model because it offers a more meaningful and inclusive approach to death care, resulting in better psychological outcomes for individuals and their families. She is passionate about the model of care and support, knowing that it will greatly benefit the Geelong community ensuring they receive the care and support they deserve.

Lucas Ferrier

Director 

Lucas is currently a Senior Manager at WorkSafe Victoria and has previously held senior leadership positions with large charities including The Salvation Army and British Heart Foundation.

Lucas has a Bachelor of Commerce from Deakin University, a Specialist Certificate in Executive Leadership from Melbourne Business School and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Monash Business School.

Driven by a passion for creating positive social impact in the Geelong and Bellarine community, Lucas enthusiastically supports Tender Funerals mission to provide personalized, meaningful and affordable funerals for all.

Ben Mousavi

Director 

Ben Mousavi has a background in accounting and finance and is currently working as a Business Banking Manager for NAB.

He is a big believer in giving back to his local community and has previously
volunteered with Red Cross, Vision Australia and the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. Ben looks forward to offering his financial expertise and community connections to help establish Tender Funerals Geelong.

Marilou Hudson

Director | Secretary

Marilou Hudson is an experienced senior administrative and executive professional with more than 30 years experience across the utilities, education, finance and research sectors. Marilou has a particular passion for community engagement and supporting organisations that make a positive contribution to society. She brings to the Board a valuable combination of corporate experience, strong organisational and communication skills, community connections and a genuine commitment to contributing to the success and sustainability of Tender Funerals Geelong.

Geordie Stapleton

Director 

Geordie Stapleton is a Managing Lawyer at Barwon Legal Service with over 21 years of legal experience. Throughout her career, Geordie has been driven by a strong commitment to social justice and a belief that everyone should have access to quality legal assistance, regardless of their circumstances. One aspect of Geordie’s work is educating the community and assisting clients with end-of-life planning. Geordie’s values are strongly aligned with the ethos of Tender Funerals and she can clearly sees the need for bringing this invaluable service to Geelong and
surrounds.

Mark Shrimpton

Director | Treasurer

Mark is a CPA with over 40 years of accounting experience. His career has spanned a variety of not-for-profit sector roles including mental health, child welfare and disability care organisations, as well as corporate positions in the insurance, healthcare, education and IT industries. In addition to core accounting skills, Mark brings experience in corporate governance and quality business systems. He looks forward to contributing these skills to help establish Tender Funerals Geelong.
